Sara DeBlaze has decades of experience guiding public and private companies through complex immigration, employment and compliance matters, helping businesses manage their global workforce while navigating shifting regulations with success.

She advises on immigration strategy and provides practical, business-focused solutions to manage employment-related risks and challenges. Sara helps employers secure immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E and O categories, and “green card” applications. She advises on workplace audits, Form I-9 compliance and internal investigations, and provides training on hiring practices, document retention and reductions in force involving noncitizen employees. Sara also advises on immigration issues tied to mergers and acquisitions and manages visa processing before U.S. consulates and embassies, ensuring organizations can transfer and retain key personnel without disruption.

Before joining Vedder, Sara served as Assistant General Counsel and Global Immigration Director to a large, multinational corporation, where she oversaw the global immigration program for over 1,200 foreign nationals in the U.S. and worldwide. Understanding firsthand the immigration-related challenges and pressures businesses face across industries and geographies, she develops processes that strike a balance between compliance and culture.

I prioritize efficiency, clear communication, responsiveness and tailored strategies, offering practical advice from the employer’s perspective based on understanding, strategy, customer service and execution.
