John Geager is part of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team and advises financial institutions, funds, joint ventures, operators, managers, lessors and companies in the aviation, shipping, equipment and energy sectors on maritime, aircraft, equipment, and general corporate finance.

He helps clients execute complex domestic and cross-border transactions involving financing structures established across multiple jurisdictions and asset deployed globally, to support fleet growth, manage capital needs, and strengthen corporate structures.

John handles all aspects of aircraft, equipment and vessel financings and refinancings, representing both lenders and borrowers. He navigates secured lending, aviation pre-delivery payment financings, securitizations, leasing and chartering, capital markets, offshore structures, and corporate governance and restructuring matters, regularly providing guidance across U.S., Marshall Islands, Liberian, and Vanuatu law to keep deals moving and compliant across jurisdictions.

John also brings prior experience supporting federal judicial chambers and engaging in international legal work, which strengthens his strategic approach to cross-border maritime transactions.
