Jennifer King leads Vedder’s Banking Capital Markets Practice, counseling public companies, investment banks and financial institutions on capital planning and formation, equity and debt offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.
She is a key adviser to management teams and in-house counsel, guiding them through capital markets transactions and regulatory compliance requirements. Her work also spans SEC reporting and disclosure obligations for public companies as well as shareholder, beneficial ownership, and corporate governance issues, and board matters. Jennifer regularly acts as outside general counsel, helping clients implement effective governance practices and meet their fiduciary obligations while helping to advance their growth strategies. She also advises private fund investors in the banking space.
Jennifer takes a reasonable and practical approach when counseling clients. She problem-solves and gets deals done to achieve successful outcomes for her clients.
Drawing on a prior career as a securities broker, Jennifer brings deep market insight to her legal practice. She co-chairs Vedder's Securities & Capital Markets Group, is the former chair of the firm's Corporate Practice Area and served as a member of the firm’s board of directors for seven years. She also chairs the firm’s Sarbanes-Oxley Act Committee and is a member of its Compensation Committee.
