Eve Hoban advises employers of all sizes on complex UK and cross-border employment matters across a diverse range of industries.
She acts in contentious and non-contentious matters, supports corporate clients with transactional work, and represents clients in Employment Tribunal claims.
Eve has broad experience helping clients navigate day-to-day employment matters, including drafting employment contracts, reviewing policies and procedures and preparing settlement agreements. She also assists clients with data protection queries, preparing related documents.
She also contributes her legal skills to pro bono work, providing assistance to clients on employment-related matters. Eve is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and a mentor to individuals progressing through the Trainee Solicitor Programme in Vedder’s London office.
Experience
- Supported a U.S.-headquartered financial services firm in connection with navigating complex employee competition issues arising from the hiring of a UK employee.
- Counselled a U.S.-based financial trading firm in connection with a misuse of confidential information and breach of restrictive covenants matter involving an employee, a former employee and a competitor organisation. Our team advised the client regarding the applicable legal principles and best practices from a UK standpoint. Thereafter, helping the client navigate UK employment law considerations regarding instituting an investigation culminating in a gross misconduct finding against the employee.
- Advised a global IT solutions provider in connection with a misconduct matter that spanned India and Canada. Our team coordinated complex local counsel advice, acting as the global point of contact for the client.
- Acted for a leading charity in a complex equal pay claim brought against it in the Employment Tribunal by a former employee. Our team successfully defended the client as the case progressed through the tribunal and secured an out of court settlement in its favour.
