Vedder is pleased to announce that it secured a complete victory on behalf of 430 Eddy St. Associates, LLC and JW Properties Development, LLC in a breach of contract dispute arising from a real estate loan, subordination, and guarantee arrangement. On May 1, 2026, the California Court of Appeals affirmed the judgment entered by the San Mateo Superior Court against Andrew Hanna. In a unanimous opinion authored by Judge Mark B. Simons, the Court of Appeals rejected the numerous arguments made by Mr. Hanna challenging the purchase of a vacant lot in San Francisco, California, concluding the contract he signed unconditionally guaranteeing repayment of an $800,000 purchase loan (and any accruing interest) was valid and enforceable. The appeal was successfully litigated by Michelle Landry and Tamara Droubi.
